The Mixed Method offers training courses in both mat and equipment Pilates. Mixed Method classes can be taken in a flexible order, and trainees are not required to complete all six available courses in order to be certified. You can pursue each modality for a well-rounded instructor certification, or just pick one or more to focus on specifically.
Each course requires 1-2 weekends of intense training with a focus on form and technique, including a wide range of specific moves. After the completion of one or more courses, you’ll be asked to complete practice hours, teaching hours, a written and practical assessment, and the TMM anatomy coursework.
courses
Mat Pilates is the true fundamental Pilates modality. Our program encourages all new student instructors to begin with this course in their full certification, when applicable. The TMM Mat Pilates coursework includes an introduction to the foundations of our unique method, anatomical movement teachings, muscular focuses, posture assessments, moves/modifications, and we formally uncover the disciplined pillars within all Pilates movement.
The infamous Pilates Reformer is a key modality in every instructor’s training journey.
These two reformer courses collectively are the largest and most comprehensive in all of the TMM program.
In the first level 1 course (Foundational), TMM students will begin to learn, understand, and practice-teach the Beginner/Intermediate coursework. After gaining a foundational Reformer knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of the pillars, TMM student instructors will then be eligible to return and participate in the Advanced Reformer Course (level 2).
The TMM Cadillac Course is a fully comprehensive training on the specialized piece of equipment, the Cadillac. This Pilates education course is designed to help future instructors understand how to fully incorporate all disciplined tower/trapeze work within one’s teaching toolbox. This class covers all levels of Cadillac training and during the live course, Instructor Trainees will begin to further engage with other student teachers on how to best demonstrate, safely teach, and properly explain the Cadillac moves and modifications to future clients.
The Cadillac course is also the first of three amplification courses that take a foundational Pilates certification to the next level. The amplification certification (CCB: Cadillac, Chair + Barrels), is the pathway in elevating a foundational instructor to a fully comprehensive instructor, within these 3 specific courses.
The Pilates Chair course is full of energy, muscular connection, disciplined form, and proper teaching techniques. Here, our TMM Instructor Trainees will continue to learn about the split-pedal chair modality, the unique moves/modifications, and gain a full understanding of the Chair’s safety features. Student Instructors will learn how to specifically utilize this versatile modality in a personalized Pilates teaching scenario.
Chair is the second of three amplification courses in the CCB program.
The TMM Barrels course is the final course in the full program and the 3rd course in the CCB amplification program. This course allows for each student instructor to uncover the modalities, moves, modification and repertoires taught on the Spine Corrector, Arc Barrel + Ladder Barrel. This course is designed to help future Pilates instructors gain a comprehensive understanding of the most popular prop tools used in the formal/classical studio setting. This course does require a prerequisite of the CCB program or previous commitment within the TMM full education program, to attend.
